Umpy is free for umpires, teams, clubs, event organisers and umpire program managers.

Where does Umpy originate from?
Umpy was designed in Perth, Western Australia to support the local hockey community and improve on the limitations of social media-based appointment posts.
Who is behind Umpy?
Umpy was founded by Jordan Britz and Kristen Britz, who both have direct experience in the Perth hockey umpiring community.
Payments
How do umpires get paid?
Umpy does not manage payments. Payment is arranged directly between the umpire and the team manager.
Do users provide bank details to Umpy?
No. Umpy does not require or store bank details.
Can the match fee be negotiable?
Yes. A team can indicate whether the offered fee is fixed or negotiable. Where it’s negotiable, umpires can submit a counteroffer.
Teams
Does a team have to select the first umpire who expresses interest?
No. The team can choose from the umpires who have expressed interest.
Can I keep notes about umpires for next time?
Yes — constructive post-game reference notes can be kept privately to inform future appointments.
Umpires
Can umpires set preferences?
Yes. Umpires can set preferences such as match-fee expectations, leagues, divisions, locations and experience information.
Can I withdraw my expression of interest?
Yes, you can withdraw before being appointed. Once appointed, please communicate any changes via the in-app message thread.
Communication & safety
Who can see chat history?
Chats are between the active participants. System administrators may access chat history where required for support, complaints or safety matters.
Can Umpy guarantee an umpire will attend?
No. Umpy helps connect and communicate, but attendance remains the responsibility of the appointed umpire and the team or organiser.
